Dr. D. Scott Schmidt

Dr. D. "Scott" Schmidt received his Bachelors of Arts in Communications/Public Relations from North Adams State College in Massachusetts in1989. Shortly after, he completed his training and certification as an Emergency Medical Technician in the Greater Boston area. He then relocated to Los Angeles where he began working as an Operating Room Assistant while completing his pre-med requirements in 1992.

Deciding on a career as a Doctor of Chiropractic, versus entering the traditional medical field was an easy choice for Dr. Schmidt. Dr. "Scott" grew up in a Chiropractic family. His father, Dr. Richard Schmidt, still enjoys an extremely successful career as a Chiropractor in Massachusetts. Additionally, Dr. Schmidt recognized early on that he preferred a career that promoted health and wellness. His interests in sports and working with athletes also supported his decision to enter the exciting and growing profession of Chiropractic.

Dr. Schmidt attended Parker College of Chiropractic and graduated in 1995. Immediately after receiving his state license, Dr. Schmidt was recruited by a renowned medical practice to spearhead their new Integrative Medical Department, as Director of Chiropractic Care. While in practice, Dr. Schmidt continued his studies and became Board Certified/Diplomate from the American Academy of Pain Management in 1997, which provided the academic training to specialize with patients dealing with acute and chronic pain disorders.

In 1998, Dr. Schmidt opened his own private practice and began working with various professional athletic organizations. He participated as the Team Chiropractor for The AVP Bud-Light Pro-Volleyball League both in Irving, Texas and Hermosa Beach, California. The following year, Dr. Schmidt traveled with the Dallas Stallions Professional Hockey Organization. Dr. Schmidt has also participated on the Physician staff for Irving ISD donating Chiropractic services to local Irving High School Football Teams. Dr. Schmidt has also treated many celebrities from T.V., film, and music, as the 'on-call' Chiropractor for The Four Seasons Resort, in Las Colinas, Texas.

In 1999, Dr. Schmidt co-founded Southern States Analgesic, Inc., a durable medical equipment company based in Charlotte, NC. The company specializes in electro medical pain management equipment. The firm currently employs six full time employees and over fifty independent contracted employees dedicated to serving physicians all across the United States.

In May 2001, Dr. Schmidt was honored with Senator Jane Nelson's recommendation to (then) Texas Governor, George W. Bush for a future appointment on The Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners.

In 2002, Dr. Schmidt began work on Triad Consulting Associates. The concept was developed as an antidote for the overwhelming need to properly administrate and manage multidisciplinary healthcare facilities. The plan will provide resources for the integration of Doctors of Chiropractic into medical facilities.

In July of 2003 Dr. Schmidt was accepted into The Dallas Chapter of Young Entrepreneurs Organization. Thru networks like YEO, Dr. Schmidt strives to increase the productivity of his clinic business affairs while understanding new business models and concepts.

In 2004 Dr. Schmidt founded TRIO HEALTH, Inc. The group is responsible for creating such innovative health care products as The ADULT SURVIVAL KIT™. TRIO HEALTH, Inc. has obtained both domestic and international intellectual property rights for worldwide marketing and distribution of the products.

Dr. Schmidt, along with his long time friend and colleague, Dr. Gregory Davidovich, opened BACK IN ACTION SPINAL HEALTH CENTERS in October 2005. The highly specialized, multidisciplinary center offers Chiropractic, Medical and Physical Therapy care as it relates to pain management, physical and manual medicine. The group quickly emerged as a leader in innovative, non-surgical intervertebral disc repair. The facility has been recognized by The Dallas Morning News, The Forth Worth, STAR TELEGRAM, featured on The A & E CHANNEL, and the medical community for its state of the art, spinal decompression treatments.

By mid 2006, Back In Action Health Centers moved closer toward the collective goal of becoming an Outpatient Rehabilitation Center. With an expected completion date by the end of 2007, Back In Action Health Centers will hold one of Medicare's highest standards and ratings granted to a medical/rehab facility.

In Late 2006 Back In Action Health Centers opened a satellite office within Larry North Fitness Center in Southlake. This wonderful alliance has helped to create a seamless transition of active patient rehabilitation care into customized exercise programs under the guidance and expertise of Certified Personal Trainers.

In April of 2007 Dr. Schmidt passed rigid national board examinations to become a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner. He continues his academic studies attending a rigorous 3 year post graduate program through the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians.

May of 2007 brought yet another invitation by The Office of The Governor of Texas for nomination to The Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners. With letters of recommendation from supporters in chiropractic, medicine, state representatives and Senators, Dr. Schmidt is hopeful to serve the people of Texas.

In July 2007 Dr. Schmidt was re-certified in Manipulation Under Anesthesia, by The American Academy of Manual and Physical Medicine. Working closely with Dr. Davidovich, anesthesiologists, and medical physicians, this team of doctors are rapidly gaining praise within the DFW Metroplex for this extraordinary procedure.

Dr. Schmidt works extensively with The Dallas Police Department's S.W.A.T/Tactical Team as their field Chiropractor. The Dallas Police Department allows Dr. Schmidt to attend high intensity tactical raids, federal warrants, and covert missions. The experience allows Dr. Schmidt to better understand the extreme biomechanical stresses placed on the officers/agents during their daily routines. The A & E Channel recently completed a 7 week reality mini-series called "Dallas SWAT" filming Dr. Schmidt clinically caring for members of Dallas S.W.A.T.

For personal interests and hobbies, Dr. Schmidt stays active year round mountain biking, hitting the gym and playing ice hockey in local men's leagues. Dr. Schmidt enjoys spending time with his longtime girlfriend Rhiannon, friends and family, and his two dogs Luci and Bella.
